🗣🗣 New episode alert: So I am in my 20’s, is it time to marry? 🤷🏾🤷🏾
I have titled this week’s episode: here comes the bride. On it I discuss something that has been pressing on my mind over the past few weeks - Marriage. Or I guess more so the idea of marriage, rather than the act itself. I am from a culture that measures a woman’s success by her marital status and her ability to procreate. Now, in this day and age, we have seen the rise of the independent woman (this is where I ask you if you have listened to episode 1 yet? 🙅🏾). Women have put marriage and children on the back burner while they pursue their dreams. But with family pressures, instagram handles and wedding invitations. The question becomes how does a woman combat societal and internal pressures. What does this rise mean for the measurement of a woman’s success in society?
