I have happily spent much of my life in the company of men but my larger circle of close friends has always been women.  They are more complex, diverse, more interesting, to me.  They have wider interests than just sports. They are intriguing because they are a different sex, some might even say species.

I’m happy to report that in a culture like ours, which stumbles into the future often because it has forgotten the hard lessons of the past you can, especially in this internet age, dip in and out of the past quite easily.

I suppose I could approach this question of “who stole my summer” like a cop, right?  First,  you round up the usual suspects:  bad weather, expensive options, scheduling problems, or maybe even that guy in the mirror I’ve had to deal with my whole life.

As 2026 gets underway, I think many people are reluctant to look back on 2025 with warm feelings. Good riddance . Putting all of those dark thoughts aside, I did want to go through an inventory of other things that I hope I will see less of in the coming year and look at a list of resolutions. Cliche, but important.
