While at TechCrunch Disrupt this week, I talked with Hex3, a company that is developing jaja – a pressure sensitive stylus for iPad. This is a stylus that doesn’t run on Bluetooth – it uses high frequency sound to tell the iPad how to interpret the pen strokes. This allows you to use the pen in areas that bluetooth and wifi are not available, like on a plane.

We also talk about App Tag, the augmented reality laser tag gun. It’s not really an iPad item (although a rifle is being developed for iPad). It’s pretty cool nonetheless.

You place the iPhone in the back and run the game app. The camera becomes the sight while you look at an augmented reality of targets through the display. Shoot the targets to score points.

You can also use it to play against other guns in laser tag. Gone are the days where the vest is needed. Just load up your smartphone and your on the go.  If you are a developer, their API allows you to write for the game.
