How much of who you are today is based on what you were taught growing up?

This week on Hey Fave!, we’re talking about the things we were taught that we eventually had to unlearn. From how our childhood experiences shape the way we view men and women, to the different expectations placed on boys and girls, we’re asking how much of our adult behavior can be traced back to what we saw, heard, and experienced growing up.

We’re also getting into emotional vulnerability, gender roles, unhealthy lessons that once felt completely normal, and the difference between allowing your upbringing to explain your behavior versus excuse it.

At what point does “That’s just how I was raised” stop being enough? And once you realize something you learned was unhealthy, whose responsibility is it to change it?

Plus, we’re asking whether there are some things our generation has tried so hard to unlearn that we may have swung too far in the opposite direction. 👀
