Woman of color have a history of carrying the burden of traumatic and harmful experiences in secrecy. These events often start in childhood then carried into adulthood. It’s then reflected on how we raise our Children. Even in times of blatant disparities we are propelled to be resilient and survive in silence. Yet, the mentality that black women are naturally strong and should continue to pull ourselves up by our Afro puffs with a smile is harmful to our mental, and physical health as well. What are some of the ways we can resolve the Black Super Woman syndrome, and close the Mental health gap between Black woman and undiagnosed mental disorders? Let’s take off our cape!
