As we consider Isaiah 38 - 39 this week, most of us would believe Hezekiah to be a good king who sadly didn't finish all that well. And yet elsewhere God gives him a glowing report- better than any other king. Isaiah tells us the Lord does not judge as we judge. He does not judge by what he sees. Instead, we can be wonderfully encouraged to learn that God uses our prayers and even our pride, our faithfulness and even our failures, to bring about his sovereign purpose- a purpose which results in praise and glory and honour at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
