It represents places in our lives where light is absencent. This is where our fears and expectations come from. In our daily lives, we tend to put our true selves on the shelf. The night is where we rectify this and return to the whole, to being what God made us to be. This is what I think it means to repent and align our dreams and desires to the true reality, a reality not what the outer life says we should be, but to what the One God expects us to be.
