In this episode, we trace the song back to its roots: a childhood spent largely as a latchkey kid, a young man who learned to crave solitude even as it edged towards loneliness. The tension never fully resolved. But somewhere along the way we found that we weren't truly alone even when we are by ourself. Faith fills in the space.
