Storyteller Chimamanda Adichie speaks of the "danger of a single story" and the need to obtain a more complete perspective. I believe her statement speaks to the heart of country, folk, or Americana music as these genres in particular are a storytellers medium. Chimamanda points out a single account, or perspective, often gives us an incomplete understanding of the story and the people involved. As a radio host I will be more mindful and work towards providing a more complete and diverse musical perspective and hopefully ensure that one story isn't the only story.
Featured artists: Kia Kater, Henry Thomas, Canned Heat, Greg Brown, Amythyst Kiah, The Vespers, Burnstick, High Country, Laurie Lewis, Lucinda Williams, The Waybacks with Nicki Bluhm and Sweet Honey on the Rocks.
