Exciting, original, and worth your time
I'm usually pretty leery about supernatural-creature-type books. I love fantasy and sci-fi, but werewolves and vampires and the like make me stop and raise an eyebrow before I dive in. However, this is an example of werewolves done right, and done extremely well. The stories are exciting, original, well-written, and certainly worth more than a couple bucks.
I didn't see it posted above, but this volume contains three of the author's short stories: Blood and Fang, Hungry Mountains, and The Serpent's Fangs.
Great....
I thought the first story was the best, but they were all certainly worth reading. I enjoyed the 3 stories and love the weird western genre, so thank you to the author for writing them. Worth the price of admission. I have the second volume and look forward to starting it.
Fascinating intro to author's books
3.5 actual Werewolf/Magical plot that ranges from mid to late1800's. This serves as a good intro. to 2 different series from the author.
A good introduction to the weird western genre
This was a fun, quick read. The author did a great job with the voices sounding authentic to the story's time period. There were a number of typos which I found a little distracting but I enjoyed the book and will read the sequel.
Really entertaining!
This was a quick read but caught my attention quickly. I'm a weird western fan and ran across this book during an Amazon unlimited search. Good characters and pacing as well as entertaining mix of genres. Hope to see more of sheriff Ashwood in the future!
