It’s April! The sun is starting to peek out a bit more and we’re approaching the weediest of all holidays, but this week, we’ve got another installment of High There Social Sesh coming at you!

Co-hosts Jamie Solis and Keegan Williams continually balance each other out this episode with all of the good and not-so-good in cannabis. As Jamie discusses the demise of Hawaii’s tireless efforts to legalize recreational cannabis, Keegan counters with the news that a large alcohol industry group is now pushing Congress to federally regulate cannabis in a similar manner as alcohol, the first group of its kind to do so.

The pair take a similar strategy on the tail-end, as Jamie discusses the trials and tribulations within the cannabis journalism space and Keegan references their surprisingly relaxed experience in navigating California cannabis compliance with a temporary ID. Jamie also shares some exciting news: High There was recently featured in Forbes!

This episode features Tess Melody Taylor, an entrepreneur, educator and founder of the cannabis edible company Saucy, which focuses on cannabis-infused sauces. She’s also the founder of CBD skincare line TAYLOR + tess and a board member of nonprofit and pre-accelerator program, Our Academy, a “socially inclusive digital cannabis space that centers minorities.”

The trio dive into the origins of Saucy, born from Taylor’s Texas roots and connection to family and food, the lessons she’s learned working in the cannabis industry and the work Our Academy does for business owners like her in the industry, with plenty more in between.
