In September 2017, one of the most intense and deadliest Atlantic hurricanes ever recorded struck the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. Nearly a year and a half later, the NAGAP Winter Advanced Professional Development Institute returned to San Juan and welcomed a group of Puerto Rican higher education leaders to address attendees as part of the annual event's keynote address.
