Welcome to the final month of No Magic. Since we're running out of time, there's no point holding back on the classics, so this week we're featuring R.E.M.'s seminal New Adventures in Hi-Fi. Somewhat regarded as their best album, which in a career filled with so many influential records, is quite the consensus. The album was re-issued on heavy-weight vinyl last year, and I stumbled upon that while record shopping in the north bay last weekend. Thus, here we are. Listening to it anew just brought back the memories of my Dad playing it loud on the hi-fi at home when it first came out. It's an all time great record whose power has only grown in the 25 years since.
Lots more besides, so please enjoy the show.
