Each year we return, on this Sunday, and listen to Mary sing "ahead of time" about her King. Today we learn anew the gift of Mary's joyful spirit as she announces to all willing to hear of the coming King's strength, mercy, and aid.

Today we look at the father of John the Baptist, Zechariah, and notice his Spirit-filled words of a promise of peace. It is because of the "tender mercy of God" that the promise of Christ can "guide our feet into the way of peace."

This morning we lean in and listen to the prophet Jeremiah say to people in need of a word of hope: "I will fulfill the promise I made... in those days." Join us as we begin this Advent season by listening to a word of hope for the weary world in which we live.

Eugene Peterson translates Colossians 3 this way: “Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other… Sing your hearts out to God!” This morning we conclude our series and explore the gift of our gathering together, each week, to express our gratefulness through worship.

Paul writes to the church: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” Join us as we remind ourselves of the power of the “red letters” and the reasons Jesus gives us to be grateful.

This morning we learn by listening to Paul invite us to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus while giving thanks. Everything. Join us as we hear a powerful invitation to proclaim our gratefulness to the world around us.

Today we explore why Paul would lean so heavily into the Colossian church with a reminder to be grateful. And we look back into the story of scripture to discover how gratefulness has always shaped the people of God.

This morning we join the story of Luke/Acts and explore how the earliest church commissioned special servants for the flourishing of their community. Join us as we take notice of how the community met the needs of one another and how Servant Leaders here at Highland Oaks can and will be used.

We conclude our series by examining how the table ought to be a place in which we can practice a posture of hospitality as a mechanism for learning, listening, and loving.
