She shouldn't be here. She can't even recall how she got here.
Except for the dream. Mya Boyle remembers the dream. She knows it's somehow connected to her past, her present and the future.
Mya woke one morning in a field, a stag grazing close by as if it didn't even notice her. She lay bare, like a babe from the womb, except for a wool blanket wrapped around her tightly.
A grown woman with no memory, no family, no money, nothing. Kayden McGregor found her while hunting. He was after the stag and nearly shot her with his arrow instead. Unable to leave her to the wolves of his clan, he took her to his home.
He resents her. She can't bear to look at him. Or stop herself from staring when he doesn't notice. Trapped, and yet somehow destined to be together.
Remember enough of the past...and you may be able to control your future.

horrible naration!
I really loved the story but could hardly finish listening because of the narrator !
Eh
I made it to chapter 5, and just couldn't go any further. She wakes up naked and with no memories? I'd assume that she'd be terrified, but it doesn't take long before she's having sexual fantasy about the grumpy Highlander who's helping her, instead of focusing on her predicament. It just doesn't scream readable plot to me.
I do like a little smut with a plot, not a little bit of plot with a whole lot of smut. So this was definitely not going in the right direction for me.
In regards to the narrator performance, I just couldn't get past the flat, monotone voice. Is Mya supposed to speak with an American accent? Wouldn't that have been something immediately pointed-out as strange? And her male Scottish accent was quite bad. The writing can also be blamed for Kayden's character coming off as completely false, as the terms he used weren't true to the era or region.
Maybe it would have gotten better...? But I don't have the patience to keep going. I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 for that reason.
monotone
I am rating the narrative performance here only. Sadly this is a very poor characterization of an, otherwise, fine time travel manuscript. It's hard for me to wrap my head around how, after all the work an author puts into a book, the author would allow this to be presented with her work. And, were I an aspiring narrative actor, I could not let my name be associated with this piece of work. I am going to continue reading this series but will not use the Audible narration. P.S. thank you Audible for refunding.
not worth the listen
no little plot except for sex. narrators voice annoying and had awful accent when doing male characters. characters were flat and uninteresting
Highlander's Bride
I was so disappointed in this book. There was no plot, just bedroom scenes. This is a total waste of money
