We develop to the fullest extent within the family of faith (1 John 2:12-14).

Our first impulse is to do something for the Lord; we should do good for "all" but "especially" toward the church, the household of the faith (Gal. 6:8-10, 1 Cor. 3:6).

The church is an incubator for discipleship, beginning with baptism (Mt. 28:19-20; Phil. 4:8; Col. 3:16; 1 Tim. 4:15; Heb. 10:24-25).

We should enter a committed relationship with one another in order to be built up together with them (Eph. 2:19-22, 1 John 3:16).

When people answered the call of Christ and came to Him, they came to a group gathered around Him, not just Him alone.

We run the risk of settling for being Jesus friendly. Though we might not consciously reject Christ, the effect is the same--we never come to Him for salvation (Acts 26:9-29, 22:16, Mk. 16:16).

What might be the problem when we have trouble believing in Jesus? It might be due to a shortage of Word, a conflicting internal reason, or focus on your own faith, not Christ (Mark 9:22-24, Matt. 17:20).
