In Season 5, Episode 7, we talk with Manghihilots/Hilot Binabaylans, Kai Delgado-Pfeifer, Liza Bustillo and Earlando Engkanto.
Kai Delgado-Pfeifer (they/them) is a Filipinx American cultural organizer weaving community through ancestral farming, herbal healing and folk arts. Kai is based between New York City, the Philippines and Berlin.
Liza Bustillo (she/her) is a Bay Area mystika helping individuals reconnect to their deepest parts of themselves to continue their life purpose.
Earlando Engkanto (they/he/siya), founder of Balete Bodywork & Botanika, invokes the 5 natural elements (earth/fire/water/air/spirit) in their cultural medicine as a Hilot Binabaylan & Rootworker. As a queer, first-generation Pilipinx-American Bodyworker & Spiritual Herbalist, they carry Pilipino & Chinese Ancestry, settled on Kumeyaay Land, a.k.a. San Diego, CA and offers Philippine Hilot to diaspora through their paternal linage. Apprenticed under a family Manghihilot, then certified & trained under Luntiang Aghama & Kaïlūkuän. Earlando studied Holistic Health at SFSU and is a CMT in Asian Bodywork through Pacifc College of Health & Science. Outside of the Healing Arts, Earlando also works with local API communities in the T.V., film & theatre industry, can’t control their boisterous laugh, and is obsessed with the taste of li hing mui.
