There are lots of careers that don’t require an expensive college degree. FOX Business Network’s Cheryl Casone reports: Getting you Hired! I’m Cheryl Casone with the FOX Business Network. Did you know that the cost of college is now more than $17,000�a year? But there are careers�that don’t require a degree. For example, transportation, storage and distribution managers are responsible for the infrastructure that business relies on to ship goods. Median salary, over $83,000 a year� nearly $40 an hour. Installers and repairmen, especially those who work on escalators, elevators, and moving walkways can make upwards of $78,000. That industry expected to grow more than 24% over the next decade. Detectives and criminal investigators,�those who help crack federal and state cases, can make around $76,000�a year. Commercial pilots for nonscheduled flights likes charter helicopters, air ambulance, air tours can make around $75,000. Some training is needed, but not a four-year degree. Larger commercial airlines usually require a bachelor’s. Transportation inspectors who�mainly monitor cargo transport including rail shipping, can make about $65,000 a year.
