It remains one of the most controversial sayings that Jesus ever made:  "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you" (John 6:53).  What did Jesus mean to say when He uttered these words?  Was He being literal?  Was He really teaching some form of religious cannibalism?   Is He teaching something about the sacrifice of the mass-- the Eucharist celebrated by Roman Catholics?  What does this text in John 6 really mean-- and what should we appropriate to our lives today?  -Communion Sunday
