Modern Americans often treat History as a kind of Trivial Pursuit game, only played by those who enjoy such esoteric pursuits. In reality, History is far more important. In the best sense, it is the story of God’s providence for humanity, the capstone of His creation, as described in the book of Genesis. Indeed, much of Holy Scripture consists of books of History.
