Indie/folk rocker Hiss Golden Messenger (aka MC Taylor) makes warm, thoughtful music about occasionally dark times. His most recent album, Terms of Surrender, is especially contemplative. He stopped by the Paste Studio in NYC to play us stripped-down versions of three songs from that record: the title track, "Happy Birthday, Baby" and "I Need a Teacher." He also played one song from his 2017 release, Hallelujah Anyhow: "Lost Out in the Darkness."
