In the 1970's the living conditions in Prison were inhumane.... In Attica, a prison built to hold around 1200 inmates was stuffed with over 2000 inmates, these inmates were terrorized by guards daily... So the prisoners decided it was time for a change and for four days in September 1971, more then half of the prisoners held 39 guards hostage in protest of the horrific conditions at Attica prison. The results weren't what anyone was expecting... The police decided to take the prison back by force. They fired more than 3000 rounds blindly inside the prison.
