This booklet was in my personal opinion not what I expected. Yes, it takes a different approach to most history books, but for a much younger audience - middle school at best. If you are looking for more in-depth history, this is not the book to read. The book is about 50-60 pages long and it leaves a lot of important information regarding some of the most powerful empires in the history of mankind. It introduces the empires through fables/stories and then attempts to tell you about the empire itself in a very broad style, finishing with a short list of accomplishments that influence the world today. I have seen elementary school history better written than this. Quite disappointed. I would not recommend this book to anyone doing research or who is searching for a more solid historical content from a publication.

Very short, with superficial stories. Not what I expected or was looking for.

Great history book. I enjoyed it.

I am now an assistant of a historian professor. Studying history is still required. I bought this up because of the interesting subtitle. it captures my attention and read it. It has a detailed information and I gained some new information especially Russia. I love each chapter and I think I could include it to my report and present it to my assigned group (the professor assigned me to teach small groups of student). Well written. Recommended as reference especially for students.
