The process of coping with the physical and psychological ramifications of the disease is a roller coaster ride of emotions.
Our guest, Kurt, in his early 40's contracted HIV through a partner who didn't even know had HIV. When Kurt became symptomatic, he chose to tell the person he contracted HIV from that he was going to be of support, that he wasn't angry at him, and that he accepted full responsibility for his choices.
The desire for high levels of pleasure without the use of condoms is just one of those driving forces that takes down the boundaries and puts people in harm's way.
After all, sex without condoms is intensely pleasurable, and logic goes out the door.
