HLC-082-What?! Rob Long Again?!

It’s the Harvard Lunch Club Political Podcast for August 30, 2016, the “What? Rob Long Again!?” edition of the HLC Podcast. The Ricochet co-founder and former executive producer of Cheers joins us and updates us (with not so subtle “I-told-you-so’s”) on the sinking of the S.S. Trump. Blub, blub, blub. Mike valiantly argues: “it’s a binary election there are only two choices” and “who cares whether you can look your daughter in the eye after voting” and “are you kidding!? we’re talking about Hillary as the alternative!” And Rob’s riposte is: blub, blub, blub.

Rob is of the opinion that Donald Trump is an irredeemable reprobate with a grandiosity complex and sociopathic tendencies. It’s hard to argue given the hole we seem to be in.

But you can judge for yourself who wins this round of the Trump vs. NeverTrump Battle Royale. We make the appeal, nevertheless, that the center-right can continue to discuss, commune, drink and think together…and that Ricochet is the place on the web to do that.

We also talk about the tragic breakup – revealed only today – between Anthony (Romeo) Wiener and his blushing bride Huma (Juliet) Abedin. What’s the big deal about a little sexting anyway?! It’s the 21st Century for goodness sake!

We’ll have our shower thoughts as usual and, with Mike left in charge of the final production of this podcast, a superb hidden gem, namely, the 1981 bootleg recording of Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen in Los Angeles singing Waits’ classic “Jersey Girl.” It is, trust me, orgasmic.
