Welcome to Hockessin, DE, a census-designated place!  The community is not a town or a city, but is a populated area without an incorporated entity or local government.  Unfortunately Keith wasn't here to teach us how to pronounce Hockessin, but we came up with a few doozies ourselves.  The area is home to several mushrooms farms that produce white button cap mushrooms.   It was also home to a snuff mill until 1954.  Thanks to Dr. Jess, we now know the many types of snuff available for consumption. Yuck!  Despite the areas lack of legal designation, it has been home to several notable people including boxer Bernard Hopkins, baseball player Tony Graffanino, and world renowned jazz singer and bandleader Cab Calloway.  We hope you enjoy our quick stop in Hockessin!
