Joshua 23 is a farewell charge from an aged Joshua to the leaders of Israel. Its theme is covenant perseverance. Joshua reminds the people of what God has done, warns them not to compromise with the nations that remain, and calls them to cling to the Lord with steadfast love and obedience. The message is simple and urgent: since God has been faithful, His people must not turn back.
