Hold Steadfast Ministries

In this episode we explore the spiritual reality that human beings cannot clean themselves, this means that it is God who is in complete control. Taking away that which does not please Him and creating in us new hearts. We also address the reality of what it means to sin against God and how the person of Christ is the ultimate source of cleansing. He alone can cleanse us in His blood. Hope this episode can be of edification and lead to interesting conversations! Please let us know what videos ideas you would like to see.

In this second episode of the Ezekiel series we discuss the source of God's will to save hopeless sinners. While many would immediately point to His love, mercy, and forgiveness the book of Ezekiel offers us greater clarity. While these aspects are all true God tells Israel that He is not saving them because of anything they have done to deserve it but rather because of His names sake or HIS GLORY. This session should be one that challenges our own pride and ego as we are overwhelmed by a holy God that is nothing like us. Hope this episode is a blessing and please tell us your thoughts on the comments below!

In this episode we explain why we have decided to change the name of our youtube channel. What was formally known as Sit Down and Listen began in the year 2019 during a time of global crisis. The primary objective was to provide Biblical and philosophical content that challenged those that engaged with it. This new year has led us to making this important shift in order to provide a clear testimony for those that come across this channel. Moving forward we ask for your prayers and please share this video with others so they might be edified with the program.

It is regarded by many as a controversial portion of the historical narrative that is found in the book of Exodus, the ruler of ancient Egypt is hardened by the sovereign creator of the universe. In this video we explore the meaning behind this expression and attempt to gain clarity by looking into the original languages, context, and theology. It is a topic that confronts us all to be on guard and not allow our own hearts to become hardened by the cares of this world. Please make sure to share your thoughts in the comments below and let us know what topics we should address in future videos.

Scripture provides multiple examples of a congregational or collective purpose and love that God through Christ possesses for His churches. Yet in the shot letter that the apostle Paul writes to Philemon we find a merciful God who is intimately involved in the lives of even those that society identified as slaves. In this video we provide context to the letter and five biblical principles that should confront and edify the way we approach the world around us.

In this video we provide a brief update on the status of the channel and personal life. Then we delve into a topic that has important relevance for the church today. The fear of man is what stagnates genuine Christian growth and true gospel proclamation. The Scriptures call us to war against these inclinations to seek the approval of others, and rather pursue the approval of the one who created us and gave His life for us. Additionally, please continue to pray for this channel especially for some upcoming projects in the year 2026. To God be the glory forever and ever Amen.

In this episode of Sit Down and Listen we take a closer look at an essential aspect of salvation; regeneration, the divine miracle that the Spirit of God operates in a dead, hardened, and rebellious sinner. Salvation works to transform the sinner into a new creation, with hearts that are quick to do His will and please Him.

There has always been a debate throughout the history of the church about God's absolute control over human affairs and history, particularly when a guilty sinner comes to faith in Jesus. But also the consistent testimony of scripture affirming the human responsibility we have in making a decision for Christ. How do these truths compliment one another? Do they contradict each other? We'll be looking a bit deeper into this issue on this episode of Sit Down and Listen.
