God’s Word teaches us that God is Holy and that He wants us to be Holy.

Holiness is transcendent purity. God is Holy and we humans are not. In fact

the word Holiness is like a foreign word to us humans. Religion will try to

go toward externals in search of holiness, but that is what the Pharisees

did and Jesus rebuked them for it saying they were like whited sepulchers

full of dead men’s bones. God is so much purer, so much more beautiful, so

much fairer, more just, more righteous than any human being has ever come
