Leviticus 19:1-37
To be holy is to be set apart. That’s what it means when Yahweh says—“You shall be holy to me.” He’s saying you shall be set apart to me. But what we can often forget is that the God who graciously set apart a people for His own possession DID NOT set apart His people so they could have nothing to do with those around them. Remember—a holy people will not be of the world, but they will be in the world. And the in the world-ness of a set-apart people is meant to look like SOMETHING—which is where Leviticus 19 comes into play. Main Idea—Yahweh’s holy people are to live out holy lives in love to their neighbor.
