Hollywood. As we keep telling you, it’s not really on the maps anymore. It’s not a town and hasn’t been for years. It’s just another part of Los Angeles that doesn’t look nearly as great as it does in the movies or on postcards. It’s a little run-down, more than a little seedy, and desperately trying to hang onto its former glamor like an aging actress that’s had one too many facelifts.
But Hollywood is a place for reinvention. Such is the case with the once famous Knickerbocker Hotel – well, not the by the hour part, but you’ll soon understand what I mean – it started as one thing, became another, and then something else altogether.
