What does it actually mean to feel safe with another person?
In this episode of Holy Ground & Messy Hands, I’m exploring safety beyond physical protection—emotional, mental, spiritual, physical, and sexual safety—and how our experiences can shape what safety feels like in our bodies and relationships.
We talk about trauma, trust, boundaries, vulnerability, accountability, intimacy, and the difference between someone loving you and someone actually knowing how to be safe for you.
But this conversation isn’t only about identifying the people who feel safe or unsafe.
Eventually, the question turns inward:
Am I a safe person?
Because maybe safety is found not only in God as our ultimate refuge, but also in the people who have learned to love us in ways that resemble Him—through truth, consistency, gentleness, protection, freedom, accountability, and presence.
And maybe the prayer isn’t only, “God, give me safe people.”
Maybe it’s also:
God, make me one.
