Q: Are there more Gods than one?
A: There is only one, the living and true God.’ The first part of the doctrine is an affirmation of the Bible’s teaching that there is only one, true, and living God. We can see this clearly in the Shema, which is recorded in Deuteronomy 6:4, and reads as follows: ‘Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
