As we travel through the darkness to the nativity, we can ask ourselves,

what is aching to be born in our own lives? What wants to break through the

darkness in the form of new life?

Meister Eckhart said we are all meant to be mothers of God. “What good is

it to me if Mary is full of grace and if I am not also full of grace?” he

asked, and, “What good is it to me for the Creator to give birth to the Son

if I also do not give birth to him in my time and my culture?”
