"Death: Jesus Dies on the Cross" Gavin Wheatley
As we are at the point in Holy week where we reflect on Jesus' death, let's not rush past the pain that needed to happen before the Resurrection. Jesus, being fully human as well as fully divine, shared our agony when he cried out from the cross. There he experienced the very worst the world can do, and he felt the absence of God's goodness. But our heavenly Father did not abandon him to the grave; on the third day he raised him up again.
