Matthew 22:34-40. The first thing you’ve got to do to do any improvements in your home is to show up to do the work. If you want change in your family, you have to understand that it's not about you, but it starts with you. Jesus taught us how to make improvements in our homes when he was asked what was the greatest commandment. Jesus answered that the most important commandment, the number one, top priority is to love God with our entire being. But Jesus didn't stop there. He went on to say that the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. Then, Jesus said these two commands summarize all the Law and the Prophets. They all hang on those two. No matter what your family make up is, if you want to see improvement, it starts with you choosing to love God with your entire self and then to love your family like you should.
