Races in the Netherlands and Monza went by with an expected result. Marissa Troy helped us review the different designs of helmet and liveries that were used in a new episode of Wicked Design. The drivers' championship has a clear winner with several races to go. The constructors' championship is a more competitive race. The teams are working on securing lineups for next year and we finally know what went down with Alpine and Piastri.
The summer break is over and we are finally racing again. Ferrari continues with the tactical mistakes while RedBull looks stronger than ever. Is the Driver's Championship over?
The Constructors championship is a bit more competitive but still with a clear leader. The midfield battle heats up and the silly season will spill into the second part of the racing calendar with several seats yet to be announced. We are so glad to be back!
After Hungary the teams get a much deserved summer break. The good thing (for us) is ... summer break is the start of silly season, and very silly it has been so far! A star retires, a veteran takes the spot and leaves an open space, a future star gets a seat but he doesn't want it (?!). This is a crazy game of musical chairs, which is very entertaining. Though we would prefer races to keep us awake on weekends.
The Austrian Grand Prix did not disappoint. The roller coaster track was fast paced and delivered great racing action. Ferrari won but one of their engines exploded. Red Bull lost a car and "good luck" kept them in 2nd place. Haas is looking amazing and contending in the midfield. Mercedes continues its consistent run and they are looking more competitive each race. Next week we are going to France!
Silverstone 2022 delivered the best GP of the year (so far). everything you can imagine in a F1 race happened. Scary accidents, great racing, breakdowns, good and bad strategy calls, a maiden win for Sainz, points for Schumacher and Hass...this is a race that will remain in the memory of many. Did Ferrari mess up once again? Is Leclerc not getting the support he needs from his team? Has RedBull become the team to beat? Is Mercedes coming back?
Checo Perez swooped in and bagged the coveted Monaco GP victory this year after driving a flawless race. Red Bull out-strategized Ferrari and Leclerc fell from first to fourth after a series of blunders in the pits - an apparent continuation of his curse at home. The rest of the race was mostly a procession with only 5 overtakes in the entire race, and an epic crash from Schumacher (he's okay, the car is definitely not). Bad luck for Leclerc and Ferrari as a team this past weekend in Barcelona as Leclerc’s DNF gave Verstappen the lead in both the race and the championship. We’re joined by our guest from Nashville Bobby Chase as we go over Verstappen’s win, Ferrari’s woes, and Mercedes’ comeback, along with a quick look at next week’s race in Monaco. Will Leclerc break his Monaco curse and bring home the victory on his home turf?

The Miami GP was certainly a spectacle, but the race itself didn't have much to offer beyond a couple of weird incidents in the midfield. Verstappen came away with the win despite difficulties in quali, and Leclerc and Sainz took up the remaining podiums and scored a bag of points for Ferrari. We are joined in this episode once again by Marissa Troy for another quick look at the interesting F1 helmet designs celebrating the first ever Miami GP. Have anything to add?

In this episode we spoke with special guest Marissa Troy about all things livery and design for each F1 team. So much thought, planning, and detail goes into these F1 livery designs, though after speaking with Marissa it's clear that some put in more effort than others. We loved learning a bit more about the special details that might go unnoticed to the untrained eye, and the special details that some drivers put into their helmets. Some of her insights will definitely surprise you - tune in to hear all about it! Thank you to Marissa for all of your incredible research and time!

Verstappen showed us yet again that the problems at Red Bull rest solely on the car itself and not his performance. He snagged pole position, first place in the sprint, and P1 in the race on Sunday...while Ferrari had to settle with a DNF and 6th place after Leclerc took a chance and paid the price. All of that and more in today's episode!
