Home Security 101: The Basics of Keeping Your Home Safe.

So if you are like me you own a gun for home defense and protecting your family. Although I also have ambitions to shoot competitively the main reason I started this whole deal was to protect my family from a threat. So here are some basics I have learned. 

Home defense involves protecting yourself and your family from potential intruders or threats in your home. Some basic principles to consider when planning for home defense include:

  • Knowing your layout: Familiarize yourself with the layout of your home, including the location of doors, windows, and potential entry points.
  • Securing your home: Ensure that all doors and windows are properly locked and consider installing security features such as alarms or cameras.
  • Having a plan: Develop a plan with your family for what to do in case of an emergency, such as a home invasion.
  • Self-defense: Consider taking a self-defense class or training in the use of firearms for home defense.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts if something feels off.
