Cairns is a place better known for its harmony and tranquility, but in a music sense it has always had a darker, rockier side that is perfectly captured on 'Home Sweet Nowhere', the debut album from local musical hooligans Bigfoot Mafia.

"I think the main goal that we had with the album was we wanted it to be an honest representation of our live sound," eplained vocalist and bass player Robert Bryant. "Rather than go into the studio and make a studio album, we hired a music venue. We hired the Understage at Kuranda Music Theatre and we set up live. Basically, we just turned everything up really loud and put microphones in front of it and had some fun; no click tracks, just us. It's a fairly live, raw sort of sound. There's little mistakes here and there but that's what we like about it. It's an honest, raw representation but it also sounds like a live band. It doesn't sound like a band with a bunch of seperation, it sounds like a live band."
