This week, on The Parents' Solution, I had the opportunity to have a humorous and insightful discussion with Jae Carter. Jae is a former 12th grade English teacher who worked in the public school system for 14 years. She is now the owner of the Homeschool Yo Kids app that she developed as a resource for homeschoolers and people who are considering homeschooling.



What stood out to me about Jae was that she had already decided before even having children that she was going to homeschool her kids because of her experiences within public school. Jae said, "The system is draining for the teachers, for the students...for everyone that's in charge of the school in general." The general lack of love for learning seemed to spread from overwhelmed teachers to the students. In all fairness, teachers tended to lose their joy and inspiration due to endless standards and mandates that were enforced by people who were not in the industry for the benefit of the students.
