Hometown Heartbeat 10/01/2020: Climbing in a Casket?
Our show is broken into eight segments. Here’s a breakdown of what goes down in today’s show! (Tip: you can easily move between segments using the chapter feature in your podcast app!)
The crew this morning: Zach, Connor, and Sandee in studio, Will Hampson joining remotely.
Segment 1: We open the show with our usual banter. We diss on Dale Jackson, Connor is wearing jeans, and we give an update on the show itself.
Segment 2: Zach talks about the results of his CT Angio (luckily, we’re in the clear) and talks about his feelings had the results been more dire. Should we fear death?
Segments 3: We continue our conversation from the previous segment, and Dan from Madison tells us a weird story about the time he climbed into a casket out of curiosity.
Segment 4: We can’t get over Dan’s call. Would you ever get into a casket?
Segment 5: We get a call from Coach Cornin, a coach from Zach’s high school and disaffected liberal, to talk about the debate and the unfortunate situation the nation finds itself in when it comes to choosing its next leader.
Segments 6 and 7: We are joined in-studio by Steve Smith, a city councilman for Madison’s 2nd District, who is vying for re-election in a runoff taking place on Tuesday. In this interview, he makes his best pitch to voters based on the growth and flourishing of Madison during his tenure.
Segment 8: Clay “Freak Daddy” Coleman calls in to talk with Zach about his background (and the origin of his name) and get the audience pumped for his debut tomorrow.
