Deacon Ryan first reads the gospel for the Nativity of the Lord - Mass During the Day, John 1:1-18.

Then, in his homily, Deacon Ryan focuses on the kingship of Jesus Christ.  Despite becoming incarnate in a small and helpless child, Jesus is indeed the Word, the Son of God, through whom all things were created.  He invites us to participate in his priestly, prophetic and kingly ministry.
