Discussing the rise of a new left-wing government in Honduras and resistance to Western imperialism. During today's episode, we talk about the inauguration of Honduran President Xiomara Castro and the coming to power of Partido Libre (Liberty and Refoundation Party). We speak with comrades who attended the event. We also discuss ongoing threats against the new government, including internal traitors and external agitators. Today's guests are Comrade Libre, Aminta Zea, and Raymond Sánchez. Comrade Libre is an Afro-Boricua poet, organizer, and communist based out of Miami, Florida, whose organizing involves moving theory into practice. As a member of the Troika Kollective, they organize in their communities; and as internationalists, they build with movements in the Global South and across Turtle Island. Comrade Libre attended Xiomara's inauguration in Honduras. Aminta is a sociologist and researcher with the Friends of the ATC. She is also part of the Troika Kollective. She is a U.S. born Nicaraguan-Palestinian currently based in Managua, Nicaragua. Aminta also attended Xiomara's inauguration in Honduras. Raymond is a Honduran journalist, activist, poet, and human rights defender for Honduran migrants in the United States. He is a member of Partido Libre and served as coordinator of its diaspora collective in Los Angeles, California. Unmasking Imperialism exposes imperialist propaganda in mainstream media.
