Jim Keller // When we pray, we ask for and seek forgiveness from God. All of us need forgiveness for what separates us from God and his kingdom. We also pray to know God and be close to him. If we don’t understand why we need him, we won’t get to experience the freedom of his true forgiveness. And there is a call that is incumbent on everyone who is forgiven—not just to extend forgiveness to others but also to move forward from our own sinful patterns. When we pray, we ask God to not allow our own weakness to take us back into sin but to be delivered from evil. Confession is just the first step, but the goal is deliverance.
We would love for you to join us in taking communion at home this week. You can find instructions here.
