This is SUCH a delicious bread! Sukrit, my husband, has always loved anything walnut. He's been asking me for some walnut bread and so it was time i figured out a good and EASY recipe! This did the trick! YUMMMMMMM
Ingredients:
12 oz dates...(3/4 cup) chopped
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts save some for the top IF you want to add them.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In mixing bowl add together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg.
In another mixing bowl whisk together vegetable oil, brown sugar, honey, eggs and vanilla.
Pour dry ingredients into the wet, still until a thicker mix forms.
Fold in the chopped walnuts and dates.
Grease loaf pan and add the batter.
Top with chopped walnuts (OPTIONAL)
Place loaf into pre-heated oven and cook for an hour. Use a toothpick to make sure the middle is cooked at about 50 minutes.
Once fully cooked, remove from oven and set to cool thoroughly. Cut and serve.
