Saint Valentine was arrested for continuing to evangelize and was sent to Emperor Claudius himself. Claudius took a liking to him until Valentine tried to convince him to embrace Christianity, whereupon Claudius refused and condemned Valentine to death. Valentine refused and Claudius' command was executed outside the Flaminian Gate February 14, 269. In every generation martyrs have testified that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and Savior of the world. Without their testimony, where would we be?! Without our testimony, where will the next generations be?
