John Glavin has been the physical and emotional rock to his mother, who is battling cancer. Even while taking care of all the chores around the house — his dad works out of state — he plays in jazz band and was a member of the football team. He would sleep by her hospital bed at night, get up and go to school, come home for lunch to make sure she was OK, then finish his day at school and practice. Here's his story.
