Why do we think we have to do it all? Why do we think we will always feel motivated to honour our commitments? And why is honouring our basic need for rest and relaxation less important than a commitment to someone else?
Here’s the thing: today I woke up feeling really tired and groggy. You see, last night here in Australia we changed over to daylight savings which meant the clocks went forward an hour. In the past I’ve found it takes me usually two weeks or so for my body clock to adjust to this bi-annual change. In the meantime, I really struggle with keeping on top of commitments when my body is so weary.
So in today’s episode I thought it would be timely to explore what it means to honour a commitment I’ve made to myself (in this case produce a daily podcast) during a time when my body and soul is crying out for rest and relaxation.
