Minister Mike Farnworth has proclaimed a Search and Rescue Memorial Day today,  which includes the unveiling of a plaque at the legislature; the announcement is being coordinated by the BC Search and Rescue Association. It comes following the rescue of Annette Poitras and her dogs in September.
