In this episode of 8-bit Monsters' Monster Deconstruction for D&D 5e we look over the hook horror monstrosity. This monster is as basic as they come for a CR 3. With virtually nothing special in it's skills & traits area to the quick actions section. This monster proves to be a fast deconstruction but shows some interesting numbers when it comes to the DCR & OCR sections and review.

The idea of this podcast is to break monsters down into their bare components: DCR & OCR. These two values will allow us to see how strong they are and to see where D&D got the CR values from. I'm doing this because all too often, players skip right to level 3 to avoid the hell levels and possibly end up dead. Generally, each monster is a balancing act that isn't equal to the final value.
